Volunteers help us accomplish so much more than just Santi & Jo can do on their own, and especially as we age, we need you and your skills! Below are some volunteer projects and ongoing maintenance awaiting your dana (generosity) of labor. Some jobs are routine and low skill, others require prior experience.
- stocking wood sheds and splitting wood
- chipping branches
- digging garden beds
- gardening, composting and landscaping
- collecting prairie seed (fall)
- prairie burning and expansion of native plants
- removing invasive species
- fencing repairs (prior experience preferable)
- chainsawing (prior experience needed)
- hand work on road repairs
Special projects on the wish list requiring specialized carpentry or landscaping skills:
- deck for the garden hermitage
- improvements around the caretaker’s cottage
- bell tower in front of the guest house
- benches and meditation platforms
- pathways with handrails around the guest house
